Video capture software developed primarily for recording video games. It was originally designed for flight sims where it would record a small video clip when
the user pulled a joystick trigger. With feature creep, it ended up growing into a full fledge video recorder and editor. To lessen
impact on game performance, the real-time video compression utilizes hardware acceleration in the graphics card, and over a thousand lines of x86 assembly.
The recorded video can be edited in Guncam with various effects and exported to gif or avi video formats.
These projects involved creating high dynamic range (HDR) images, and performing noise reduction. The HDR
software can create a high dynamic range photo from stacking photos of various exposure times. It can auto-align photos of a scene,
so the user doesn't need a tri-pod while shooting for the HDR photo. Once combined, it gives the user the ability to change properties like white-balance,
contrast, hue, and saturation. The long-exposure noise reduction software can remove heat noise from a long exposure
if provided two appropriate pictures from the same sensor.
This application allows players to add bases to the space-flight simulator
Orbiter.
Players can add buildings, hangers, runways, and other objects in game with an easy to use GUI interface.
It can also download satellite images and add
them to the game to provide higher resolution ground visuals on Earth. The images are blended into the existing game tiles by
softening edges and increasing transparency at distance, which remove distracting "hard edge" border artifacts.
