Image Processing
High Dynamic Range
This HDR software will take in multiple pictures with different exposure of the same scene, align them, and then create
a 16 TIFF with high dynamic range. It allows the user to adjust these features:
- Set WB: Click on a "grey" portion of the image to equalize the red, green, and blue channels to that spot.
- R, G, and B: Adjust the levels in the Red, Green and Blue channels.
- Saturation, Contrast, and Exposure: Adjust the levels of these basic image values.
- Histogram: Select between a luminance histogram, or one displaying the red, green, and blue channels.
- Curve Exponent: Adjust the aggressiveness the gamma correction curve.
- Shadows: Increase the exposure of the darker areas of the image, without affecting the brighter areas.
- Highlights: Lower the exposure of the brighter areas of the image, without affecting the darker areas.
Long Exposure Noise Reduction
This noise reduction software works on long exposures. Night time "star-trail" photos can take hours, and this can generate a lot
of heat noise in digital sensors. Luckily, this is easily replicated on the same sensor, so it can be calculated and removed from
a photo. In this picture we first see the unprocessed image, and then the image with noise reduction. This processing was performed
by working with the RAW sensor data from the camera.
